How I Tried Harder: My Story of Passing the OSCP

It has been over two weeks since I received the email from OffSec congratulating me for passing the exam. Now that some time has passed, I can look back at my journey to the OSCP certification and share it with you.

For those who don’t know, OSCP (Offensive Security Certified Professional) is one of the most respected certifications in the cybersecurity field. OSCP is the dream of many, as it is not just a certificate, it is a proof that you have what it takes to hack into real-world systems and networks under realistic conditions.

The exam takes 24 hours. During the time you can make as many breaks as you want

Even though this is a hard and respected certificate, it is considered an entry-level certificate and is easier than some other OffSec certificates. However, it is a certificate known and recognized by HR, so it might help you to accelerate your career.

A little bit about me — I have been working in the industry for almost four years. I started as a penetration tester and recently became a security engineer. I hold Security+, CEH, and CEH Practical certificates (my story of passing it, and comparision with OSCP), but they are nothing compared to the OSCP, which is much harder and more valuable.
