TryHackMe writeup: Basic Pentesting

Basic Pentesting describes itself as “a machine that allows you to practise web app hacking and privilege escalation.” (“ashu” 2019). This room was created to introduce junior penetration testers to the art and science of remotely hacking into a target system with an aggressive approach to gathering information and chaining exploits to get a system administrator’s password. In this article, I will discuss the process by which I was able to get the system administrator’s master password.
