TryHackMe writeup: Game Zone

Game Zone is a TryHackMe room that aims to teach its user “how to use SQLMap, crack some passwords, reveal services using a reverse SSH tunnel and escalate your privileges to root” (“tryhackme”, 2019). This room started out as fairly standard, but then showed itself to teach interesting things in the privilege escalation state. In this article, I will discuss my experience working out the solution to this room.
