🤖 What if a cyber attack happened to robotics? 🤔

🚗Curiosity led me down an intriguing path recently, prompting me to question the security of robotics in the face of potential cyber threats. As I embarked on this exploration, I found myself without access to actual robots. Undeterred, I took matters into my own hands, crafting a DIY Bluetooth-controlled vehicle robot using an HC-05 Bluetooth module and an Arduino microcontroller. The Android Studio became my playground for creating an intuitive Android app to steer the bot’s movements. 📱

🔌 HC-05: Bridging Devices with Wireless Magic

The HC-05 Bluetooth module, a stalwart in the realm of electronics and communication, bridged the gap between devices with wireless finesse. A favorite in DIY projects and prototyping, it unlocked a realm of possibilities for seamless device interaction.

🌐 Arduino: Empowering Innovation, One Project at a Time

At the heart of this venture lay Arduino, a beacon of open-source innovation. With its fusion of hardware and software, it empowers creators of all levels to weave interactive narratives through electronic wizardry.

⚙️ Peeling Back the Layers: A Voyage into Vulnerabilities

Hours of tinkering and exploration revealed the vulnerabilities nestled within Bluetooth communication. A systematic de-authentication assault opened the gateway:

1️⃣ De-Auth Attack: A calculated de-authentication maneuver set the stage for further incursion.

2️⃣ Brute-Forcing the Barrier: The Bluetooth pincode fell victim to a relentless brute-force attack, granting unfettered communication privileges.

3️⃣ Remote Control Conquest: With a triumphant flourish, serial data flowed from my laptop to steer the robot’s destiny from a distance.

💡 A Glimpse into the Complex Reality

While the situation I simulated is a simplified version of reality, it underscores the urgency of understanding the latent risks and vulnerabilities that lie at the crossroads of robotics and cybersecurity.
